CNC Molds N Stuff
A friend of mine gave my son a brand new Badger 350 (NIB) airbrush a few days ago. I've read up on it a little, but I wanted to know if anybody was actively using one and thought it was great. Yeah, I know free is good, but is it going to be a big pain or a wonderful tool? I have no idea what my son plans to use it for if anything. .. .. .. .. Edited April 13, 2015 by Bob La Londe
BobP
I started out with a single action Badger a long time ago. They are a little fussy to use and in no way as useful as a double action brush - but they get the job done if you aren't trying to paint detail. Musky Glenn
I use the Badger 200 which is a single action. I have been happy with them until I man handled it a little much and caused a problem on the first one. (Me bad) Bought another one because I liked it. barrybait
My first airbrush was a Badger 150 recommended to me by a taxidermist friend. Good because the set included three sizes nozzles and needles. It really is a good brush but in the end I went to Iwata because the Badger was a siphon feed with the cup off the bottom and feed difficulties/wasted paint were the end result because so often I'm painting 1 or 2 baits and it is more trouble to change colors. If you're a taxidermist painting a striper that's probably not a problem. Good brush, good control, well made. Don't know how similar it is to the 350 but Badger is a good quality manufacturer in airbrushes.
Tim2199
I have a badger 155 anthem, which is quite different as mine is gravity fed and dual action. So all I can say is im happy with the quality of Badger. The dual action and smaller needles allow for better control with fine details. From what I saw on the 350's description it is really good for larger volumes of paint, and depending on the tip it can shoot heavier paints. Which isn't a bad thing, just depends on your application. I believe Badger has a comparison chart on their website of all the models which shows the strengths and weaknesses of each airbrush.
