jonister
I thought id share this just to show that the nastiest, least inviting waters will sometimes hold very nice fish. Sooo, for the past week or so i have been exploring on my bycicle some of my endless canals and culverts and such, looking for new fishing spots. So i decided to try out a new spot,,,,,, by a sewage plant. Now take into mind that im almost always catch and release, so i would not ever keep anything and worry about eating bad fish full of sewage. So, i made a cast, and another, and another, and walla! Fish. It happened to be a quite nice largemouth, so i let it go, and next catch, Another one! By the end of the first day i had caught a couple fine bass and some Huge bluegills, the kind labeled as shell crackers or plates. So i new i found a good spot and just kept my mouth shut and came back. Same story different fish. and caught some more fish. But what im getting at is, even if it looks bad, you might as well fish it, it may hold really nice poogill and large mouth a*s

alsworms
Good point. There are some spots on our river that most fisherman would never think of fishing, but they seem to always hold fish. When I take a friend for the first time, I always tell him to toss it in that spot. He'll always look at me like I'm crazy, but 90 percent of the time they'll stick one. jonister
Yes! i take my john boat up some of the nastiest sloughs and canals of my river and will have really good days. the main stems of my rivers are just too clean and cold for the largemouth so when a want to catch few i just go tube jiging up the sloughs. They are fun little stinky places i tell you.
