Weed Guard Glue?

Recommended Posts

I was told that super glue would be good to use to glue the weed guard to my jigs. It does hold good but when it dries, it leaves a white finish over my jig head. It also dulls my paint. I can get most of it off.

What is a better glue to use? I am currently using gorilla glue super glue in gel. Just use a small amount.

Thanks.

I read another post and learned a few things. The fan trick jeeps the white residue off when using super glue. But I had some 2 part epoxy and tried it and it works great but I couldn't mix a lot at a time because it dries so quick. Thanks guys.

I like to use Devcon 2 ton epoxy...you get a longer working time plus no white residue issues. I also coat the heads of some of my fancy jigs and spinner baits with it also. (It's commonly used to top coat custom painted crank baits.)

Only down side is that you can't fish the baits until the next day.

The fan idea is meant only for the Loctite gel super glue. Do not use a fan when you are using D2T epoxy, your application time will be reduced drastically and you will only get frustrated.
