In the meantime, I wanted to let everyone know that this year's contest will be run a bit differently when it comes to choosing the winners. There will be a panel of 5 judges who will view the entries and choose the best in each category. This will eliminate the possibility of it becoming a popularity contest We will also be changing the categories up slightly, with hardbaits being divided up into custom painted and custom made, so those who make their lures by hand or from scratch will get recognition for that. Unless I'm mistaken you can start working on something "new" whenever you want. The submission period is the only thing that has time constraints. The submission period is the only thing that has time constraints. Ben Ben is exactly right. You don't have to build a bait just for the contest. You can if you want to, but you can also use a bait that you built sometime in the past. And you can start now if you'd like to build something special for the contest.
