Vertical Stripes On Bucktail Jigs

Recommended Posts

One way to do it is to tie a barred feather on each side of the jig. Small jaw has a video on YouTube showing how to do this. The feathers are called "grizzly hackle".

They sell a lot of "waterproof" or "permanent" markers, but I've yet to use one that is truly waterproof and permanent unless it is sealed against water intrusion. One thing you could do is use one of these markers and then keep one handy in your boat, or tackle bag, and use it to touch up any fading.

good luck,

Ben
