Thier red is almost pink. Their orange is a just a washed out Before buying again from the same old guys thought I used the best tool with the guys that now. Thanks as always. But i dont plan on buying any hair or feathers Instead, i have several friends who hunt deer... Since the tails are no use to them, im sure i will have no problem getting my hands on some (and i duck hunt, so feathers are supplied as well) I dont know if this is an option for you... Or if you can wait that long (i couldn't, i already bought a couple from Cabelas).... But ive found a few threads here on preserving and dying your own buck tails...... I'd rather support the "little guy" so to speak, then give me money to big stores. Don't know if LPO won't fit that but I think they would. I live in Texas, so hunting season is BIG!!!.... I got tired of paying $7.00 for a pack of strung saddle hackles. Open them up and you had a six inch strip of feathers. I was able to buy a six foot strip for $17.00. I know from experience that Rit dye works well on feathers. There was a thread on this board just a while ago about dying hair and feathers. A search should find that for you. Some guys also use "Kool-Aid" as well as "Rit" among other brand names. Protein items like hair and feathers an Acid die is usually recommended.
