emptystringer81 Posted August 30, 2015 Report Share Posted August 30, 2015 Was wondering what everyone uses when putting new soft plastic baits in bags if you use worm oil. in the bag, I just recently started adding scent into hot plastic when injecting but ive noticed the baits are really sticky when putting them into the bags, Should I add a few drops of scent or would that be a bit too much scent. Only let them cure for one da before you bagged, should cure them longer, some say over two weeks or more. Cure them, put them in a glad container, scent, seal and let them soak it up. I lay the baits out on a an aluminum bun sheet so they stay straight. I like to put the baits in a tupperware container, squirt some scent in and close the lid. I then shake the container a few seconds until all the baits are coated. Makes it a lot easier to get them in the bag and you don't end up with a lot of extra oil in the bag. Just my take. Bass-Boys Posted August 31, 2015 Report Share Posted August 31, 2015 when you say sticky baits, were they sticky before you started adding scent? if so, you mite not be mixing the plastisol enough before you make the baits? make sure there is no settling in the bottom of the jug. Apdriver Posted September 3, 2015 Report Share Posted September 3, 2015 In the past, I've had some bad luck with some scent that wasn't Dinp based or had some ingredient that , over time, turned brown and got real sticky. The bait will get coated with a thin layer of salt. then once you put them in the water the salt washes off. Upper Hand Scents Posted February 7, 2016 Report Share Posted February 7, 2016 Have had a lot of guys calling and asking about scents and packaging. Upper Hand Scents can be used for cooking into your baits and again during packaging. It's important not to over saturate baits when scenting them in the bag. Doing this will make baits sticky/gummy after time. All your doing is looking to coat the baits. Have had guys asking if they can mix worm oil and Upper Hand Scents for packaging> Answer: Yes.
