CNC Molds N Stuff
I'm not too particular about my coffee except I do like not having too manygrounds in the cup. My wife on the other hand is into all that fancy"stuff." We've had a Jura coffee maker for many years. Its been sent backto be rebuilt two or three times, and its been sitting broken on the countertop again for the last couple years. It was quite expensive when we got it.Its the kind that grinds the beans presses them into a cake, and forcessteam through them on a cup by cup basis. Well it is when it works. I'vebeen bugging my wife to just throw the darn thing in the dumpster for thelast year and a half, but she keeps making noise about fixing it again. Ihate throwing good money after bad, and its taking up valuable real estateon the kitchen counter. I'ld get her another one if it would last. Anysuggestions? No the Kurig prepacked marketing and RMR generating machine is not really anoption.Personally I am perfectly happy with my Mr Coffee and some Folgers, but I'msure you've heard the cliche many times. "Happy wife, happy life."
Vodkaman
Nobody owns a coffee maker out here in Indonesia. Everyone drinks 'real' coffee, as the Nescafe instant is considered an expensive luxury. Two teaspoons of Indonesian coffee in a glass. Pour on the water, a splash of tinned milk, stir and leave to settle. Job done. The grinds are fine and heavy and settle out nicely with no floaters. Try a pinch of chilli powder in your coffee - nice. As for the defunct coffee maker, strip it down for parts. Dave
RayburnGuy
I like "cowboy coffee". That's where you boil the grounds in a pot of water and once the coffee is made you just drip a few drops of cold water into the pot and that makes the grounds settle to the bottom. IMO that's the best coffee there is. Ben
BobP
Cuisinart makes several models that grind the beans and then brew. Don't know if they also press them into a cake. Check them out on Amazon.com
