Do It Essentials, From Dull To Shiney Baits

Recommended Posts

I use the 500° engine enamel from Walmart. Doing good so far. Like archery1 said get the mold good and clean and dry. Spray recoat in 24 hours and start injecting the mold 24 hours after the final coat is what I did. As far as spraying the whole mold one guy did that on a different form and just scraped out the vents with a razor blade.

Not sure what I did wrong ?  I used 1200 degree paint cleaned my molds really good and did the brush and alcohol thing but my paint come off after a few pours.  I did a coat then waited 24 hrs and did another coat.  I don't guess I got all the oil out of it but I cleaned very well or thought I did.   The paint I used was grill paint from lowes.   I have used it on grills and it works good.  NOT SURE WHAT HAPPENED ??

I find it funny that bait painters are looking for flat/matte finish for their lures, Yet the plastic makers want shiny LOL... Crayfish, minnows and all forage are dull, Not shiny... Look in any fish tank and see...

I think if your trying to mimic forage the best you can, No need for shine! :?

PS:.... Good video
