Buzzbait Blades

Recommended Posts

I haven't tried the turbo blades.I've been looking for some that are 2 blade. I mostly throw a hawgcaller buzzbait and the blades are a little bigger than the "large" blades I've been seeing online.i haven't measured any of the blades but they look bigger. I also think that the War Eagle buzzbiat has a little bit wider blade than 2 inches.

Just curious as to what you are trying to achieve by such a large blade?  Other than the obvious More lift to support a heavier head and trailer/ More water disturbance/ noise. Are you targeting large mouth bass, pike or muskie?Have you considered running doubles to get more of the above?

If its just for your own creative collection I would suggest try cutting your own.

A set of right ,left and straight cut tin snips and some thin hobby shop sheet metal.

Copy a pattern from suppliers catalogue and increase size on your printer.

Glue it on to your base material and cut away.

The shaft guide holes may require a jig and a punch to form but with practice can produce good results. I have made a few blades just because supply is very limited here in Ontario without ordering all the time. Would not want to make  a large amount for selling unless results proved worthwhile  AKA catching a ton of fish with one. .   Good luck

Just remember that a single blade of the extreme large sizes will create torque causing the underhung portion to rotate to the side.  You can see that by setting up a large 2 blade on a small body.  The super large blade will also cause the bade to track hard to one side or the other.

Making it a double spin, one ccw and one cw rotating takes care of that.  You get all of the advantages, but few disadvantages.

Still, having a bait that tracks left or right is NOT a bad thing at times, so if you still want the super large size to try, then canuck is absolutely right.  And once you get the "master" done, you could mold it and make them with resin.
