gaspumper Posted June 12, 2016 Report Share Posted June 12, 2016 Wanting to start rod building have a couple of questions,what do you prefer the flex coat finish or prokote finish,also the standard thread finish or the high build thread finish,also which thread size A-B-D,last question which is best the color fast thread or the nylon thread? TerryF2858 Posted June 12, 2016 Report Share Posted June 12, 2016 we use size A thread, on my bass rods, i think it makes the wraps look better. i have used pro kote, and flexcote, that would be a personal preference, flexcote dried a bit quicker at the end. on the first rod i used nylon thread and when i did the epoxy. it darkened alot, burgundy is almost black now, so if you want the color to stay true, i think you should use a NCP or color fast thread. just my opinions Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
