Do-It Spinner Jig Sj-2-J

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know what the difference is between a Do-It spinner jig sj-2-j (3238) versus the sj-2-c (1226)?  They both have two cavities (1/4 and 3/8 oz).  I have the sj-2-c mold - it is a style "c" mold.  I'm trying to figure out what the sj-2-j mold is.

Hi Shadeline,

I have the SJ-2-J spinnerbait mold.  It is one of my favorite spinnerbait heads for smallmouth fishing on our rocky lakes (Wilson and PIckwick) here in Alabama.  The mold is an arkie style head.  The wire exits the head at more of an angle than some spinnerbaits which are more inline with the hook.  It is excellent in staying upright and not snagging during the cast.  The only dislike I have for this mold is that it only has 1/4 and 3/8 heads.  I only use the 3/8 size.  I like it so much that I once contacted Do-it about it to see if they had a similar head in 1/2 and/or 5/8.  I was only told that it was discontinued and they really didn't know what the head style was.  I tried other molds but none were close.

This year I did buy their "bass jig" mold and have adapted it to pour 1/2 spinnerbaits that are similar to the J mold you will get.  I hope they work as well as the 3/8 model.

I hope you like your mold.
