I currently have microwave, plenty pyrex, colors, flakes, molds, two presto pots, a single injector and a bass tackle twin injector. Any tip would be helpful. Thanks More molds more product, bout the fastest way.. Just to give you an idea here, when I shoot swimbaits (3 sizes) I will typically shoot 102 cavities. Drop shot baits - 84 cavities for one and 80 cavities for the other, 5" stick baits - 64 cavities, fluke style minnow bait - 60 cavities. I find that its more than just more molds/cavities though. All I do is try to manage heat. There is usually a point where more mold/cavities actually will slow you down. I try to have as many molds as it takes to allow me to keep shooting in a cycle, e.g. if I have 12 molds I will clamp them in 3 groups of 4. Shoot a group and move it to cool, grab another, shoot it and move it to cool, grab the last and shoot it, move it to cool. Grab the first, pull the baits, re-clamp and shoot again etc. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But I do know that a good routine can make you faster at anything When you perform the same task over and over, you can really fine tune it... All the way down to where you place tools and which hand you use to grab them, how you pull off the clamps and where you put them, or which direction you open the mold and which end of the bait you grab to pull it out...... When you do these tiny details the exact same way in the exact same order every time, you develop a muscle memory which makes you move faster.. I currently have 1 six cavity bt bomb mold, 5 - four cavity senko molds, 1 four cavity swimbait mold, 1 three cavity fluke mold, 1 two cavity super hog mold, 1 two cavity craw mold and 1 one cavity brush hog mold. Having an extra person in the shop to help unmold helps too 6oz basstackle dbl injector, 10oz basstackle single injector and do it injector. my plastic dries up quick in the 10oz bt injector. The vast majority of guys on here are making baits on the hobby level, an injection machine can run as high as $40,000 and up. Molds for them between $3,000 - $10,000 each. It really is a completely different way of doing things. Based on what you listed i would say you'd more molds if you want to produce more product. Also have one on the Jacobs single color machine. Just, because it is a machine does not mean it will replace old fashion hard work. I can turn out a lot of baits with two presto pots a Twinjector and enough molds so you are never waiting for molds to cool. At times I even use a fan to cool the molds a bit, because after repeated use they get real hot and need some cooling. But I was telling you to check it out for technique more than products. You need to get a system that works for you and go with it. Apdriver Posted September 16, 2016 Report Share Posted September 16, 2016 If you have presto pots, you can make a rack out of wood and just let the twin injectors rest in the presto pots. I have the rack, which was produced by HRM for Baitjunkys and do not have the heater. You do not need it. Monte SS showed his 2X4 rack in a previous post long ago. Just shoot, evacuate and rack the injectors setting in hot plastic and after you Demold, the injectors will be ready to draw hot plastic and shoot again. No cleaning a plug. Frank Posted September 17, 2016 Report Share Posted September 17, 2016 Needing a rack just to hold up the injectors is one thing but be warned the Twinjector will cool off enough to get a skin on the outside. When that skin falls off you will get clumps of half heated plastic that might migrate to the other color and cause some mix in the colors. Doing swim baits will be a disaster when the top color gets into the bottom. This does not happen much with full Prestos pot but when they get low there is a serious loss of heat. With a heated rack it keeps heat up on the Twinjectors and also cleans and melts the plastic on the outside of the unit. I used the first one made and it was my conclusion to heat it.
