Making A Buzzbait Squeal

Recommended Posts

Thought of this this morning after the driving to town with a couple of Buzz baits tied to my truck antenna. When I got home I had 5 of them rather I clipped 5 of them to a house fan free standing fan after about 20 minutes of this they are starting to squeal. Hope this helps someone. John

Old stuff still works, thank goodness, or most of us would be in trouble.

The fan idea looks great.  My fishing partner tied a buzzbait to his antenna on the drive from L.A. to Mead, and it got ruined, because it wore away both the rivet and the blade tab.  The fan will give you a lot more control.

And filing the shaft is a neat idea.

While building: I crimp the rivet, adjust the tab that rides against the rivet so that it makes full contact, and tap them together a couple of times........ no risk of me ever losing them from my antenna and they squeal right out of the package!!

I do adjust my tabs to make full contact and crimp the rivet to the shaft. What do you mean by tapping them together? This sounds much simpler and a lot less trouble. Thanks.  John

Get a hold of it by the blade and tap the wire into your work bench a couple of times. The rivet and blade will mesh together a little better and you'll notice the difference in sound right away.
