Recommended Posts

Hey Skeeter,I know how you feel starting out as a teacher, and becoming a student!!Coley's Balsa/Cedar cross was brilliant.....He eliminated so many problems with that...Like I said some time ago...Not only has Coley snatched the pebble from our hands...He's hitting us in the head with it!!..Nathan

Coley,

While your in tutorial mode(which have been great!) could you do one on the way to round over the corners of a crankbait so they are exact? I'm still learning and have been doing it with a carving knife and sandpaper, but am looking into maybe a router (although thats a little scary with such a thin bait) so they a re perfect.

Thanks.

I do it just like you do it, a carving knife and sandpaper.

I also have a piece of sandpaper glued to the inside

radius of a slice of aluminum tubing.

Lincoya, taught me how to round a piece of wood with

a carving knife. Tell you what, I will make a sketch

of how to carve a radius and post it here later on.

Coley

Carving a square to a round.

In photo 1 you carve off A & C until A, B & C are equal.

In photo 2 you carve off A, B, C & D until 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 are equal.

Just keep carving off the points and keep all the flats equal and

as you see in photo 2, it takes on a round shape.

Thanks, to Lincoya for teaching me this.
