Smoke Purple Tube?

Recommended Posts

Montess thanks. I figure I may try it with salt & without as so many say you need to use salt in tubes for whatever reason. I do think it would help with cutting tails. I know the baby brush hog type baits I made with heavy salt were tougher than without. I'll just have to try & see what works & suits me best. Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I salt but only after they are injected I use it to keep the tails loose and free from sticking I see no need to salt the plastic and to be quite honest if your pouring for yourself and a few friends then who cares if they are a little weaker if it gives you confidence then ad as much as you see fit! I personally choose to sent mine instead.

Roger,

Do they cut good for you with no salt in them? I was always under the impression that the salt helps the tails split better when cutting. I used to dip tube and cut tails, but used salt. Thinking about either shooting or dipping tubes again, and if I can avoid salt, I will. It was my experience that the tails didn't cut well regardless of how I did it. Would almost be worth it to dip my tubes and pay someone with a hydraulic cutter to finish them.
