Scottzkee
I have the regular do it plastic and a stick bait mold. The plastic is super soft and kind of squishy. Should I move up to the hard plastic or should I add a hardener? Thanks guys.
Cub48
Are u getting your plastisol up to 350F get u a digital thermometer if u don't have one. I have used the regular it is firm and makes a good bait if u put powder salt this will also firm it up and also weight it. But clean all your stuff after your done. Scottzkee
I was only heating it for 2 minutes and didn't use the temperature. I bought one but this was my first time testing the stuff out. I will check to see what the 2 minutes put it up to. If I heat it to 350F will it get harder then you say? Frank
Sounds like you did not mix up the plastic all the way. When you do not mix well it will come out just like you described. Mix it well and try it again.
Scottzkee
Do you know how long to heat say 4 oz in a microwave typically? I am just trying to get a basic idea.

MonteSS
Are you adding salt for a proper Senko recipe? That will stiffen it up
Scottzkee
I am adding salt but it still feels like the plastic is to soft. I will try heating it up longer.
BassHack
I use the lurecraft medium plastic . I mix it with a 4 to one ratio with salt. It's pretty darn close to a texture of a senko. What are you using to measure the temperature of your plastic" Edited April 26, 2017 by BassHack
Baitjunkys
In truth, Im pretty sure Real Sencos are made from MF plastic, You may start there.
CNC Molds N Stuff
I get a really good stick worm using M-F Soft Sinking.
mark poulson
I like a softer senko, so I use both glass blasting media and softener in Baitjunky's medium. I still add salt for flavor, but I can get a much tougher,l softer senko using the glass media. CNC Molds N Stuff
The reason I have been a fan of the M-F soft Sinking is a combination of things. Because its a sinking plastic instead of a buoyant plastic I use less salt to get the weight I want. Other additives would perform similarly with it I am sure. Then because its a soft instead of a super soft or a soft with softner add to make it super soft its stronger. Last because the there is less salt its strength is not reduced as much, and there is less salt to make it stiff. Is it the best plastic for a stick worm? I have no clue. I can't tell you what you will like. I can only tell you what I like. Edited April 28, 2017 by CNC Molds N Stuff
