Recommended Posts

does anyone use that sealer with such a small nozzle?i just have an eclipse hp-cs and was wondering what i can do.if it's too small what would be the cheapest iwata that would be able to well spray that sealer?i know that i can reduce it a lot but im kind of scared to ruin the sealer quality if i reduce it to much ,maybe im wrong?

I'm guessing it's because the pigment particles are too big.

When I'm priming with Wicked White, I thin with the 4012, and then pull the needle back an eight of an inch and lock it there before I start to paint.  That opens the nozzle more when I actually start to spray the paint.  That seems to let me shoot the bigger particles with my HP-C, which has a 3.5 needle.

You can always buy a bigger .5 nozzle.  Remember to buy the .5 needle and nozzle cap too.

i think this is what 'i'll do or maybe i'll get  a revolution .5mm all the needed things to convert my .35 will cost me around 60 so for just an extra 50 i can get another airbrush without the trouble to change everything when i switch from paint to sealer.now i just hope sutoborn sealer don't smell as bad as krylon fusion

Be careful when going to a bigger needle. Your compressor has to supply enough air to support it.

my max is 55 psi so i think it will be enough ?

In my experience if you get a max of 55 psi with a .35mm tip you will not get 55 psi with a .5 tip.

Also, when you say 55psi is that what your compressor is rated to or is that what you have it set to while painting?  This also is different.

Have you guys ever tried using Zinsser BIN primer? I cant say to much about it yet being i just started using it but it seems promising. It goes on thick, but dries nice and smooth to the touch within 20 minutes.  Covers sealed or epoxied wood really nice and water based paint sticks well to it. It might be a little pricey thou.

it's strange because createx site said small nozzle is no good for autoborn sealer but when i ask them a question they reply me the auto sealer is np for my .35 mm.then i ask them what's a small nozzle ,then she said i'll have to ask to a tech .i think their specialist are not that special lol

btw what's the difference between auto born and auto air sealer ??

Ddl, you might want to consider spray can primer if doing big muskie size lures, 2 coats of decent white primer and your done. Much quicker /easier and very effective for bigger lures......

which brand did you use?

Ddl, brands will be different for car primer here, I used good quality cellulose based primer with no issues, I use zinsser bin mostly now. I spray using a spray gun ,but comes in cans also. Rui- zinsser works well, though touch dry in 20 minutes , it reaches full cure after 1-3 days . Personally I only use on sealed wood.
