Bleed through

Recommended Posts

Quick question for you fellas. When injecting laminates and there’s bleed through what is the cause of that?  My temperatures are within 5 degrees and I tried shooting them at 320, 312ish, and 300 degrees and getting basically the same results. The bleed through is also on the bottom side of the mold. The top side laminates perfectly at all the above temps. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Yea, it's on the bottom and same place on both molds and when I swap colors

If you shoot that with green pumpkin/orange flake on top, and orange/red flake on the bottom they will get bit bigtime!  That is exactly what a red swamp crawdad looks like.  The mottled effect will be killer!

I wish I could do it, but I'm too cheap to buy a double injector and laminating block.   So I pour the bellies first with the orange, and then inject the green pumpkin over it to get the top and claws.  As long as I shoot the gp at 330, the two bond well enough to not delaminate.
