If that lip was 1 inch from the bait, would it have a dive rating of 4-8 foot? Or would this be too much lip for the bait? The bait I am currently working on, the lip is 1 inch from the bait and I am just looking for opinions on this style lip and length. Since the line tie is in the nose then the bait may have a sweet spot as far as retrieve speed is concerned. My thought that if cranked too fast the bait may try to lay on one side or the other. It may not. If it does and you want to get rid of the problem, then move the line tie out on the lip about 1/4 inch and try again. Coley- I am using a square lip on this bait, similar to the B1 only 1/2 inch longer. If you were just making a statement that a 1/2 inch wouldn't have much effect, I understand.
