Gloss coat for plaster mold?

9 posts in this topic

I've found a super fine plaster, but the gloss coat I used to use is no longer available? Any suggestions.

Behr's makes a masonry, stucco/ brick Paint but a gallon is too much and would go to waste.

Did a search and someone mentioned Elmer's Glue All. Anyone tried it?

I always add some yellow carpenters glue to my POP, to make it stronger so it holds details better.  The more you add, up to a 50/50 mix with the water you add, the more gloss your mold will have, but you still have to seal the cavities before you pour.

I have always sealed with thinned devcon.  No issues and no loss of detail if done properly.

Tried various other methods... well still use the devcon method.
