Plastics Keeper

Recommended Posts

I could use some advice about making(buying) a barbed keeper for tough plastics like ElazTec (Gulp?) This would be mounted above a worm hook to keep the plastic in place.Have used baitholder hook shanks but I have to break the hooks to get them.Help!

I use 20ga galvanized wire that I get at Lowe’s.  Cut off piece lay it on the hook and wrap some thread around it.  Put a little Krazy glue on it and you have a useable cheap bait keeper.  I do that a lot with worm hooks and on some of my shaky jigs.

i also make holders like the parasite clips.

You can also find the old barbed keepers like on the mister twister keeper hooks with that search.

Thanks guys. I have used these spring pins before and they work well. You can really get creative with them.I will try to search the old Mr Twister barbed keeper because it seems like the answer for the ElazTec and probably the Gulp too. Jimmyjigs

Yes, But the elaztech plastic does not do well on these...

Heat the spring pins with a lighter ... and it will melt into the elaztech ... Insert the heated pin and twist.
