air regulators for compressors

Recommended Posts

since you dont have a regulator tapped out of the tank, Id look into getting 2 different ones, one reg with a water trap & tie it in right out of the tank, set it to 50 psi or lower then add a small inline reg where your NPT hose joins your airbrush hose. you can use the inline to make small adjustments (0 up to 50 psi) on the fly.

I personally wouldnt run 125 into any hose unregulated unless the hose states it can handle that pressure.

good luck w/ it.

Does it have a tank, and how big.

It sounds like one that will need to be running all the time.

Is it just 125 out or can you dail some control in to it?

If it just has a switch and runs at 80- 125 then shuts off.

This is done by a pressure switch and they are preety much set.

You can not adjust them, not much at all.

You will need to do a little more work to it before you will be happy.

Regulating the air out of tank is what you need to do, because you can not control the motor.

You need a regulater with gauge so you can tell whats going on.

Is that reglator with out the gauge you talked about just brass with a dail?

I run my air through my PVC piping, then standard 3/8in air line all with quick disconnects.

When I put a air brush online it is to a quick connect fitting to a inline regulator that is behind a small air/water separator, all set up with quick connects.

This is from habor freight.

This way I can plug in any where and control my air pressure before it gets to the small air brush line.

Those little lines cost to much to blow up.

Pulse having the control right there is nice to have.

And I travel with my brushes to other places to do painting.

But all and all I prefer to regulate it at the tank.

35-40 psi out of the tank will never pop a hose by accident.

Yea the compressor runs continously, the only thing I've done is put a pressure gauge inline. I can control the air pressure only when I open up the nozzle, once I've got it set an release the the nozzle the gauge goes down to zero. Least this way I have some idea what pressure will work best while spraying i hope. Would a regular help that much? Thanks for the replys
