yellow perch

Recommended Posts

Here's a brush painted plan:

White under coat. Let it dry then lightly sand.

All paints are acylics.

Mother of Pearl white.

While still wet, blend in a very little bit of yellow on the throat.

While still wet, carmel on the top and half way down the sides.

While still wet, with a stiff short bristle brush, dab on olive green on the top, head, around the eyes and make the side stripes. Smear it in with the carmel a little.

While still wet, use a tootpick to make a row of olive green dots on the sides as a lateral line.

Let it dry.

Using a tooth pick, scratch on lines of orange, yellow and black for the tail, pectorial and belly fins.

Let dry.

Glue in eyes.

Candy coat with a mixture of micro glitter and your favorite clear coat.

Attach hardware and go catch some fish.

Customers here in WI want white belly perch. Heres how I paint mine.

1. Seal and primer

2. Paint entire bait white

3. Hit sides with a bright yellow (leave belly white)

4. Using a stripe template, spray stripes on sides using

hunter green.

5. Attach scale netting to bait and lightly hit sides with

metallic gold. Remove scale netting.

6. Spray hunter green straight down the back of the

bait from head to tail. Hit the sides with hunter green

just a little from the mouth to cheeks only.

7. Add eyes.

8. If the bait is big enough, I will do a hint of orange on

on the belly right up at the mouth and on the very

end of the tail.
