Best clear coat for lead head jigs?

Recommended Posts

I make lead bass jigs and have been using polyurethane as my final clear coat and it works pretty well other than the time it takes to brush it on each jig, and 4 or 5 oz. will last forever. I also used powder paint for my jigs and prefer to mold my weedguard in when I pour instead of using the pins and glueing them in later which prevents me from baking them to harden the finish. My question is if there is a better clear coat that will set up super hard and durable and clear and shiny? The cost is also an issue and I know clear coats like epoxy are expensive.
