2005 Lurecraft

Recommended Posts

It's that time :D For those that don't know, Lurecraft has some new colors this year.

The 'Lumina' series is pretty awesome! They're basically colored powders. Lumina Black is awesome. And I think Lumina Copper and Lumina Russet will make cool craw colors! Pearl Amber is another new one :)

I'll be placing an order this week :!:

Stay away from pearl amber. It's really pearl copper and no one at LC will admit that amber is yellow and copper is copper! The same for purple. There are many hues in the purple category and what is offerd is blue grape, not violet or maroon and doesn't stand out except in light colored plastic.

Price don't seem much different and a few molds have been added. I'm still buying my dye and plastic from Del. At $38/ gal plus shipping for a poor quality plastic, I'd just as soon stick with Del's Calhoun pl.

The molds he sent were great - just what I was looking for and worth the wait.

Based on the pictures, the pearl amber and pearl copper look completely different? If anything I think it resembles the Lumina Copper. And to add to that, the Lumina Copper looks like Pearl Copper and Pearl Amber mixed together

Regardless, all of the colors will achieve different hues based on how much you add to the plastic and what colors you add to it. I don't think I pour 1 recipe that is a stand alone color out of the bottle! They all have some other color mixed in. That's the beauty of handpours! I have 1 recipe, that depending on how much of a certain powder I add, it will change from a purple tint, to an orange tint to a red tint. All of those colors are achieved using the same colors. But by adding more of a certain powder, I can get each of the different colors.

Prices did hike up. But so have prices on everything else in the country. Nothing new there :|
