Does anyone make their own scent???

Recommended Posts

I have a secret ingredient for trout, but it is in powder form and is not mixing well with the plastic. I have taken this ingredient, mixed it with flour and water to make a paste, form it into small balls, put it on a hook and the trout eat it up. If I can get it to mix with the plastic properly, I plan on making pre rigged trout worms with the scent. I am going to try the balls on panfish ie bluegills, crappie, perch etc. this year. Who knows, maybe a bass will hit it, and then I really gotta get it to mix with the plastic. Pop

its funny... i actually just tried out some homemade scents a couple of days ago. however, they were more for slime coat purposes. i mixed some crisco and italian dressing togetherto form a paste. i dabbed it on the lure and tested it on some bedding fish. they seemed to react more once it was applied. im eager to order some of the blood that bps has and mix it in.

Nerdys scents actually helped IMO the fish kept coming back to the jig until the scent was gone then id add more. (yes i was with him when testing on these bedding fish)

Funny simple ideas work. Ive used Shortening oil and Powdered shrimp before and it works well. Just blend together and it mixes well and applys easily.

If anybody is interested in a new scent formula for soft plastics,

contact me through this site or gobassin.com.

It's called UPPER HAND. Comes in three diffferent formula's.

gabassnerd has done a trial on them, using it both

by marinating some plastics, and cooking it in plastic.

He said the Upper Hand had great results, using it both ways!

Thanks, Doug

I do really like Doug's scent. Cooks in great and has a scent that lingers.

My partner caught a 7lb + fish the first time out with his scented baits. In all we bagged aver 15 fish in 3 hours with many in the 3-5lb range. I'll be "lake testing" his scent again tomorrow and will post results.

I have pictures, just didn't have the digital this time.
