Polyester Resin? Where to purchase...

Recommended Posts

I was looking through the user tutorials, and read about the resin molds you can make. Problem is I'm not real sure where to buy the stuff.

I went to Lowes and they didn't have any, and I didn't see a spot on the shelf for it either. Same story at Home Depot and the Ace by my house.

About the only place I haven't tried was the local boating stores such as West Marine, Boat's US, and Boaters World.

Figured I would ask here before I wasted more time and gas trying to find it. I would call but I'll just get someone on the other end who wouldn't know what it is and tell me they have it when they dont!

Is there another name for it, or a particular brand I should buy?

Thanks for any and all help!

Glad to help, since your post sounds just like mine of a couple weeks ago. If you do a search for resin, I am sure it will pop up. (no pun intended) I bought mine at Walmart in the auto section-Bondo, it is a fiberglass resin.

Save yourself all the running around. There is more information on the site that will help, do the search. Good Luck, Pop

Thanks Pop!

I did as advised found the thread where you were asking about it and whala Fiberglass resin and Polyester resin are basically the same beast! The good news is now that I know that for sure, I don't have to buy any as I have some left over from a boat repair I did in October...just hope I still have the hardner :?

I got to hand it to Jerry his search feature is a breeze to use and REALLY works unlike most forums/websites I'm used to! :D
