I'm confused about what you're confused about

Have you read the 2 tutorials? One for silicone and one for resin?

There isn't much to it. :? If you're using the resin you pick your master, glue it to the bottom of a metal or glass dish, mix up the resin with the catalyst that comes with it, pour it over the master and wait. After a couple hours turn it upside down and seperate the mold from the container. You might need to clean up the mold cavity a little bit. Now you're ready to pour your plastic in. That's it :)

The silicone is about the same, except you can mix up the silicone, place it in a mold box/frame and then push your master into the silicone leaving the flat portion even with the top of the silicone.

Woody, It's getting increasingly harder, at least in my area, to get metal containers to make molds. All the cooking pans have teflon or similar coatings and the glue won't stick. I have been searching Salvation Army etc., but no luck. Going to try making small wooden frames and putting a removable bottom on them for molding. I need to find a glue that will make the bottom easy to remove. I figure if I need to leave the wooden frame around the mold, it might actually strengthen it. What do you think?

I think that will work Pop. You could even use a piece of glass for the bottom. Maybe even a mirror? If you think there will be a problem with resin leaking out somewhere (like where the removeable bottom is inserted) you could dam the outside of the frame with clay.

Try putting a good coat of vasoline on the wood, might help to keep the resin from soaking in. A wooden frame won't hurt, but I don't think you'll need it as far as strength? I have only broke one mold. But it's the only one I've dropped

The best metal pans I have found were at wal-mart. They're cheapy models. Just plain old silver metal cake type pans. I use a razor blade to scrape out the old worms and glue after each mold. I have one pan that's about 6x11" roughly. I've done 8 or 10 molds in that same one :D
