Sanding between coats.

Not if the coat is as you want it, nice and smooth. Just give it a quick alcohol wipe and commence recoating!

If I am doing a second coat, I'll scuff the first coat with a scotch bright pad, wipe off, then do the second coat. The scuffing gives the second coat something to grab onto.

The alchohol removes the dust particles from the sanding and provides a clean surface for the next coat of epoxy. The household stuff has worked fine for me.
