kbiddle Posted April 8, 2005 Report Share Posted April 8, 2005 OK, Guy's I have looked and looked and I have not seen any suggestions on a 2 part resin mold? What are the thoughts on this is is possible ? I want to mold some bitter rodent types for full round soft pours, the flat are fine but I want to tryt and get a full body. overkill Posted April 21, 2005 Report Share Posted April 21, 2005 many of the guys are doing a two piece resin mold for their foam crankbaits. The problems with it are shrinkage and that leads to the lines on both pieces not lining up properly. However you should be able to do a 2 piece silicone mold without a problem. Fish_N_Fool Posted April 22, 2005 Report Share Posted April 22, 2005 the problem with 2 piece resin molds, besides the shrinkage trouble, is the heat of the plastic as you pour makes the mold warp and the plastic runs all over the place, so you can not make a 2 piece resin mold.
