Legendary Lures

Whatcha think of this one?

12 posts in this topic

I used one of my Jigger bodies to make a crankbait. The body is clear white pine and about 3 inches long. Eyes are plastic and the fins are aluminum. The handmade beak is Lexan. The paint is spray enamel with handpainted details in acrylic. Hooks are size 4. A coarse comb was used as the stencil for the stripes. The clear coat is epoxy with micro glitter. It was fun to make because I kept picturing a giant Northern Pike giving it a chomp that will leave marks. hahaha

That lure brings to mind a post where someone said making lures was not an art. That picture speaks for it's self and it screams beautiful. Very nice work.

I guess it's OK if you like perfection. It's guys like you, Artbrush and Vy that keep my inferiority complex intact! B)

That is right on it! Great job on the lure design and paint.

You are right, a big ol' northern will probably try to make lunch out of that!
