luresmith Posted July 28, 2003 Report Share Posted July 28, 2003 There are two main problems with this strategy. First, if you wank your crank to float you have to mix a lot of dust with the resin. This weakens the resin and the castings tend not to be very strong. Second, getting enough balsa dust into the resin makes it so thick that it becomes very difficult to get into the mold through a sprue hole.
