I'm pretty new at this too, but I've got just enough experience now to give you a little advice. The mold you are referring to is probably a two piece mold. IMO,2 piece molds are just slightly more difficult to pour than a 1piece, but the senko mold is probably about as easy as it comes. The alum. molds are superior, but if you look in the tutorials, you can find out how to make a 2 piece mold from plaster. I made a 5 cavity senko mold using the technique mentioned in the tutorial and it was a success! And real cheap! Hope this helps.

Del-mart ,lurecraft, M-f plastic all have kits to get started. there are links on the top page. I suggest you start with a kit first so you know if you will like it or not. I cant believe I am saying this, but I would start witha lure craft kit or a m-f kits since they are cheap, then if its something you like and want to get into then look into alum molds.

If you want a senko type bait in a kit lurecraft and m-f dont have full round ones . you would have to buy alum. or make your own using one of the tutorials on this website.

The metal molds you are seeing are not laser cut, The are cnc machined alum molds. I dont think you will find a laser cut mold anywhere.

buy an aluminum mold. They are a lot easyer to use. Even though they cost more, they dont realy depreciate. You can always sell them on ebay or here. Calhouns or Mf plastic are the easiest to work with. You can get Cahouns at Delmart. There is a ton of info on making the baits on here. Do a serch in the archives and you should be a pro in no time.

I placed my first order a month ago from LC, got a few colours/glitters and the plastic/softener/worm oil.... made my own mold and had a blast. Then i went and got the senko kit from Del-Mart and ordered 2 other molds from Bob (Z-Lizard and Split Tail Zipper- Poor boys erie darters are big here), got it all yesterday (most of it anyways lol), tried it out last night using the pyrex method and.... man oh man is it difficult to pour a senko, i'll perfect it today i think (hope), but it's lots of fun, eventho i scorched the plastic a few times (microwave isn't the best and it looks like i have to adjust the cook time compared to LC plastic).

If i had to do it all over again, i'd buy the kit from DelW and a $13. mold from Bob- keeps the price right around $110. U.S. and gives you just enough to start with, if you decide you don't like it, resell the molds and either use up the plastic/colouring/glitter or eat the price of it.... not out a whole lot of cash that way.
