borderbasser
I have some M-F regular plastic in a five gallon jug and was thinking about adding softener to the entire jug but was unsure how much to add. I was wanting something along the line of the supersoft formula, or maybe just slighty harder. Any of you guys have any suggestions? Keep in mind I don't add any salt to my plastic. One other question. Can you use Calhoun softener with M-F plastic and visa versa and are their softening characteristics the same?
millsryno
Maybe try to contact M-F about that. I bet the regular and super soft are pretty much the same thing only one has more softener in it.
alsworms
Robert at MF once told me that both formulas are the same, but the super soft has 1/2 gallon more of softener in a 5 gallon jug. I have mixed various brands of softeners with different plastics. They all seem to be pretty close, but I have noticed that MF's softener is a little stronger than others. You don't need to use quite as much as other brands. If I were you, I'd start with adding 5 cups of softener in your 5 gallon jug and see how you like it. GB GONE
I was shipped regular plastisol once and have the exact ratio at home in my shop. M-F (Robert) will give you the ratio if you call. I used Calhoun's softner with my M-F plastisol initially with no problems. When my M-F came, I switched to M-F. Jim
