Crankbait lip angle ?

Recommended Posts

That's true. Of course if the weitghting is done right :P

I first started of sith more perpendicular lips. These were quite easy to make. No probs what so ever. But when i started making them with more horizontal lips, all hell broke loos :-D

Well not quite, but the first ones were throw outs. What u should consider at this type of plugs, is that if u'r not sure it'll run with a horizontal lip, u should put the line tie just under the noze, this will deffenetly make it wobble. They work with line tie just on the nose on the bait, but not all of them. From what i noticed it's because the back of the bait. If it's higher then it would run with the line tie on it's nose, but if it's a lower back it might not run like this.... U'll get the picture when u'll start making them

Anyway the idea is that further down the line tie goes the more wobble u'll get out of your lure, and a bit wider......

This is a difficult question to answer. I really think this is one part of TU that hasn't been thoroughly addressed/answered by the experts. At one time I had a great link that answered this question but can't seem to find it. I will keep looking.
