Repainting lures and cleaning airbrush

Recommended Posts

I've been practicing painting on some old bombers. The problem is I only have 3 so when I mess up I sand the old paint off. I'm using createx is there a easyer way to take it off?

I'm also wondering whats the best way to clean my airbrush? As of now I run windex between colors and when I'm done but thier seems to be alot of paint building up in the brush. Is there something else I should do?

By "running drops" I meant spraying isopropyl alcohol thru the brush. During final cleanup shoot isop. alcohol into the brush, allow it sit for 5 mins +/- (leave some in the brush), then follow up with spraying h20 until its completely clean. Letting the alcohol work for a few minutes helps loosen up those dry paint deposits inside the head assembly, tip and nozzle. Hope that helps, good luck.

Forgot something, another method that works well for cleaning parts, tips, head assemblies, needles, ect...that I use almost daily is an Ultrasonic Cleaner (sonic wave). Works well for getting rid of and loosening up those dry paint deposits that you cant reach. You can use water or add a cleaning liquid. Be sure to shoot a burst of air thru the assemblies after cleaning, helps those old tips to perform like new again. Saves a lot of money in the long run as well. I use the unit from SharperTek.
