Online Soft Plastic Sales?

Recommended Posts

I know a lot of people probably aren't open to discuss this for various reasons. But, I'm currently building a website to sell my plastic lures on and was wondering how other peoples business' are fairing.

You don't have to post $ ammounts, but i'd like to know how much plastic some of you are pouring a month and figures like that. Or how many orders you ship out a month. Just curious is all.

Please Don't post your websites though, as thats against the rules of these boards.

Hey tw53487.... You won't get to many responses to this one but I will give you some ideas...

Initially, you won't pour or sell to many at all. I think something that most forget is that you have to be good (and creative) at marketing. You can have one of the best poured baits in the world but if nobody knows about it, you won't need to pour many!!!!

Taking the time to learn how to pour good baits and working up great color recipes is also a focus in the beginning. Be ready to pour a pile up just to give-a-way to your buddies and friends that will be honest with you.

While you are practicing and working on your "hobby", lay the foundation of your baits coming out into the market. Do your homework on pricing, color charts, styles, etc. Focus on a few baits and expand from there. The same with colors.

Be wary of all the "pro staff" inquiries in the beginning. You need to be careful how much and to who you give your baits away to. Most just want something for nothing and will do little to help you along.

You may pour hundreds or thousands a week and ship out everyday.

It all really depends on how good your product catches fish!!! That ends up being the bottom line so practice up and give it a run. If you have other questions or thoughts, this board is the place for them. Remember to search out questions also as a lot of great info has been posted here in the past.
