Jayson745
Hi people. I'm new here and have never made a home made bait. After reading a while I am 100% I want to and will do this. 1st question is= how many lures do you get out of a gallon of plastic? On average say 6in worms? Over $30 shipped doesn't seem like a good deal unless it makes alot more than I think it will. 2nd question is has anyone made molds out of clay and cooked in a kilm? If so any suggestions would be appretiated. My aunt has 2 kilms that she uses for crafts, and I'm a very artistic person who wants to make unique baits. Green_Fingers
Hi Jayson, I haven't made molds out of clay but have used plaster of paris for 10 or so molds with huge sucess. I used PP because of my method of making molds comprises of sticking bits of existing SP's togetehr to make a new form of bait then copying this with the PP. My only sugestion is as well as a heavy coat of glaze I would recomend some kind of varnish or epoxy finish, who knows the glaze might be enough! Good luck and I look forward to seeing some of your new creative baits! Simon
