I'm wanting to start painting a few crankbaits,but I can't afford to buy an airbrush and a compressor at the same time.I've been looking at the Dual action airbrush at Wal-Mart for $40,it comes with a can of compressed air,and a few bottles of paint. Now my question is how long does a can of compressed air last?The kit comes with 6oz and the replacement cans are 10.5oz.Or should I just wait until I can afford both? Mylures Posted September 4, 2003 Report Share Posted September 4, 2003 Hi there, I never used canned air but from prior post I would think they don't last very long and get quite expensive. If I were you I would probably wait until you can afford a compressor. I think it will save you alot of money in the long run. Just my opinion. SPaZZdOG Posted September 5, 2003 Author Report Share Posted September 5, 2003 Ok I think I'll wait a few weeks and get both.The canned air at Wal-Mart is $8 a can ,so I guess you can spend alot of money quick.I was looking on Harbor Freight and they have a Paasche VL-SET for $49.99 ,and Wal-Mart has a compressor for $100,so I may go that route. I've used the caned 'air' before, and besides the fact that it does run out rather quickly (20-30 baits), it also contains toxins and explosive gasses (butane/propane??). even if you spray with 'safe' paints the mix becomes noxtious.
