Bullsbug Posted January 16, 2007 Report Share Posted January 16, 2007 I just signed up here at TU, and after browsing some of the threads my interest was peaked by the fluid bed method for powder painting. I've been making jigs for several years and I have been heating my jigs in a toaster oven and then dipping one at a time in the paint. I started out dipping my jigs in the 2oz jar but I always got a different coat on each jig. With a fluid bed, you get a more even coat because it fluffs the paint in the cup and it doesn't pack down like a jar will. I got mine from dayooper (a member here) and I have been very satisfied. charkins Posted January 17, 2007 Report Share Posted January 17, 2007 A fluid bed uses less paint and gives more even coverage. It also leaves the eyes of jigs free of paint, even down to 1/64th.
