Worm Oil turning brown?

Recommended Posts

Had some worm oil, and decided to not use it on a few bags to see how that goes, and for some reason I left it outside, on the old well. Either way...

It's got a brown hue now, where it used to be clear, that's kind of odd to me, wonder what it does to baits, as most folks leave them outside in the boat, or at least I do!

Either way, just an observation, unless someone has an answer!

Hey Jim, Does that go for the Hawg sauce as well ?

??? Not sure what you mean??? It is brown out of the bottle but I add it in my bags as it has a much better smell than worm oil and it gives the colors a kick. I just would rather have all "natural" oils on my baits if I have to put something on them in the bag.

The baits have to absorb some of whatever you put in the bag so I choose scent as it has to be more attractive to the fish than worm oil.

My :twocents: ..

I have had a bottle of worm oil turn a dirty yellow with the bottle getting sucked in. I think it was the heat in my garage that made it do that, but I see no difference in it besides color. It doesnt change color of the bait and isnt noticable in those amounts needed to coat baits. It also doesnt smell any different then it did before so im guessing it wont have any negative affect, I still catch fish with my baits.
