We really need a sticky for Don'ts for newbies. Like don't put water based colors or scents in hot plastic, Don't put hot pyrex cup on cold metal plate. I think it would be helpful and maybe save an eye, or a finger, or even a life.

Very good, I was just thinking of this same thing.

1. If your Pyrex cup has a chip or little crack in it, throw it out and buy a new one.
2. Don't set Pyrex dish on cold metal or concrete surfaces.
3. Don't use Pyrex on hot plate.
4. Don't mix water base scents with plastic.
5. Don't use floating bubbles without using a mask.
6. Use good ventilation when pouring in confined areas.
7. Be careful of plastic injectors or anything that puts 350 degree plastic under pressure.
8. Were safety glasses when pouring baits, it can save an eye.

great idea. I would consider myself a "Newbie" still. Learning alot from you guys but it never hurts to reinterate these safety tips.

If it wouldnt have been for this forum when I microwaved plastics to try to make a tube I would have put that cup on cold wood and I'm sure it would have broke.

Unless you are ready to spend almost all your free time and spend more money than you intended; don't do it. lol

Oh yeah; you have to be ready to take some heat from your significant other as well.

Other than that it's the best addiction you could have.

Don't EVER invade her space or use ANY of her tools!

i'm a newbie too compared to the people on this site but i have learn a lot in a few year don't spend a bunch of money on molds with small body parts till you get your pouring skills to a certian level

DON'T - leave your powder paint exposed to the elements. When not in use ALWAYS keep it in a tightly sealed container. Any moisture/humidity will ruin the stuff.

glue gun work good for small part and unform dots but don't tip it back at all i got good look at the bone in my finger from that gun just get good with the pans and pro pots

Don't pour in the house:tipsy:! Pour in a well ventilated area and don't be afraid to post a question first:).....

Did you pour that plastic on your leg with protective clothing such as a pair of overalls or similar on or not? I would have thought overalls or some sort of protective clothing was imperative and mandatory.
