whibley
Ok, I am looking to make a spook type bait. I was thinking of using either a Bass Wood Dowel, or some balsa wood. What do you guys think? I also need to know where I need to put weight in it, and a rattle. Should the wight go in the back? Thanks
Nathan
Another Missourian!!..I would use the Basswood dowels. That way you can use eye screws. If you use balsa, you will have too through wire it for strength.I would put the weight in the last "quarter" area of the bait. This will make it much easier too walk the dog with your new bait..Nathan
mossy maker
I have made some spooks and yes you should put the weight in the tail. If you want a rattle I would put that in the front part of the bait. I typically use cedar but I'm sure basswood would work. It may take some experimenting for the right amount of weight. mossy maker
