plop
Anybody know what the differece is in metal composition between standard stainless steel wire forms and the "PREMIUM" wire forms sold by Barlows?
WidowMaker
The premium has more "spring" than the standard. The premium is going to have more vibration than the standard and is also going to be easier to "tune".
plop
Thanks for the info. I am still trying to find out what the two different grades of metal are. I was in the golf business for 15 years and there was a variety of stainless used such as 431, 17-4 and 18-8. These are all grades of steel and denote their metal composition/hardness. So the question still remains does anyone know the metal compostion of the premium and standard wire forms. I want to make my own.
WidowMaker
Ive never custom bent a "r bend" or "twist eye bend" spinnerbait wire form. All the baits i make i use the Mason Brand Stainless wire in the .018 size which is available from Barlows. Its a top grade wire which works well for my intended purposes. But i dont know how well it would work if i tried using the .035 to .040 sizes for the r bend or twist eye bend wire forms.
