Yamamoto's Natural shad color

Recommended Posts

I haven't had one in my hand but from the pic on my screen it looks like a light smoke with black and gold glitter. The salt will give it that opaque look.

Try 4 oz. plastic with 2 drops black(LC) and the salt, then work from there with the amount of color. Always start with small amounts and then work you way up checking as you go. Once you put the color in you can't take it out.

Looking at the pic again there might be a pinch of blue highlite in it but I wouldn't add that at first.

Let us know how you make out.

We match our skirts that have no salt to tubes that are loaded with salt. A lot of times we add two drops of white and it will give it that opaque look. Sounds like the guys posted already are dead on. For that stick I would try:

1 cup of plastic

5 drops of LC jet black

2 drops of Dels white

1/8 cup of salt

.035 gold flake

.035 black flake

pinch of black or silver hi-lite (Can't really tell from the small picture)

I make the natural shad color in my baits and I found that the LC black used to make a natural shad turns color quickly if you have to keep reheating it to pour . So I went to the grey pearl powder and it works great.

I use

1/2 cup salt

add calhoun plastic to fill to

1 cup mark

4 tsp softner

1/2 tsp grey pearl power

1/4 tsp large black flake

1/8 tsp small gold flake

1/8 tsp silver holo flake

2 cups plastic with appropriate amount of salt, 13 drops LC Pewter, 12 drops of LC Black, 1.3cc of .015 black glitter and 2.5cc of .015 light Gold glitter. Here is a Yamamoto on left and my injected ones on the right. Only difference is the Yamamoto is not as shiny as my injected ones.
