snooterfish
has anyone else had trouble using other flourscent paint as a second coat? my second color wants to bleed(if thats the right word) into the primary color. yellow (chart) is the primery color and i am trying to shoot blue(flor) as my second color, for scale effect and dark colored back line. i am using createx water based paints and i am shooting full strength. richard
Lure--Prof
Heat-set your primary color before applying the second color. You should do this after every coat, it doesn't take long and prevents any bleed problems. Take a hair-dryer and apply heat to your lure until the color is thoroughly dry; its sheen will change as the moisture leaves the paint. No amount of static drying time equals heat-setting for permanence. This will "cure" your problem. Dean

baitmaker2
Be sure to start drying with hair dryer on low before applying full heat if you start on high you will probably make the paint run until it gets starts to set.
