TAE73 Posted March 20, 2007 Report Share Posted March 20, 2007 I use the powder paint, but trying to keep the weedguard from deforming is tough. Does anyone have a idea on what you slide over the weedguard. I have used small wood dowel rods with a hole drilled in them, they work but I don't want to really drill a buch of these out. Elken Posted March 21, 2007 Report Share Posted March 21, 2007 The teflon tubing or wrap a piece of aluminum foil around the weedguard. lilcraw Posted March 21, 2007 Report Share Posted March 21, 2007 I take a plastic straw and wrap it with tinfoil then slide it over the weedgaurd, when you are finished just slide it off and it can be re-used many many times, real simple and cheap, on the smaller weedgaurds just use a smaller diameter straw, leave the straw on weedgaurd untill jig is completely cool...........WORKS GREAT Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
smalljaw Posted March 22, 2007 Report Share Posted March 22, 2007 I have a way for you to glue your weedguards in. I have a jig mold for 1/8oz jigheads and it doesn't have a pin so I made my own. Get the weedguard you intend to use and take it to a hardware store and match the diameter up with a finishing nail or small drill bit. For my small jigs the end of a 5/64 drill bit works perfect, all you have to do is cut the fluted part of the bit off and your in business.
