BC1
Lonnie Stanley produced a spinnerbait that had a tapered wire. It was a Vibra Shaft..Anyone know the process to make such a wire or where you can buy tapered spinnerbait wire..It really made great sense to do this to get the durability at the line tie and the ultimate vibration where the blades were...Where can we get this wire or how do we make it Thanks C
basssj
I wanted to bring this topic back up to the top. I too am interested in some tapered wire for a spinnerbait. Anyone have any ideas for us spinnerbait making geeks?
clamboni
Only thing I can think of is trying to put the wire in a drill chuck and turning it over a sharpening stone, with something to hold pressure on the wire, like squeeze it down with a block of wood or metal. Will be hard to have any kind of consistency though. Or maybe sandwich the wire between something hard like an anvil and a fine file and pull on the wire. It'll definitely taper the wire for you, but again, hard to be consistant.
