i was just trying to find a perch color for this crankbait i was wonndering if you shoot the black on first then the yellow over the stripes with a net to try to give it a scale pattern.

I shoot the orange belly first, then the gold low sides, then green high sides, then the black back and points (using a stencil). If I want scale effect, I do it when I shoot the green. But I don't really think it's necessary.

I probably wouldn't bother with the scales either, but some faint vertical browns or tans are good. Go very light on the vertical bars or stripes or you will ruin it. You can use a very wide gap comb for a stencil for spraying. I would do the belly, then sides, then vertical stripes, then back.

Doom's right, you can do some pretty neat stuff with combs and such. I find that the dollar stores are a great place to look for things to spray through.

if its yellow perch heres my pattern.
base yellow then green on back and shoulder. template black bars. shoot gold scale over. spray belly color desired. a little red on throat and tail.. oh ya once again black down back only. it works for me.
